What parts do I need to complete my build with this jig?
This listing is for the Jig Only. To complete your PF940C frame, you will need the Polymer80 PF940C frame itself, the specific locking block and rear rail module kit, a compatible parts kit (often referred to as a “lower parts kit” or LPK), a drill bit set, and an end mill or rotary tool for channel milling. A slide, barrel, and upper parts kit are also required for a complete firearm.
Can I use this jig more than once?
Absolutely. The P80 jig is constructed from durable, anodized aluminum and is designed for multiple uses. Its precision-machined guide holes and channels will maintain their integrity through several builds, allowing you to craft multiple frames or perfect your technique on a single project. Proper care, such as clearing away polymer shavings between steps, will extend its lifespan.
Is prior gunsmithing experience required?
While prior experience is helpful, it is not strictly necessary. The jig is engineered to guide a builder through the critical machining steps. However, completing an 80% frame requires patience, attention to detail, and the ability to safely and accurately use power tools like a drill press and rotary tool. We strongly recommend reviewing official Polymer80 instructions and numerous tutorial videos available online before beginning.
What’s the difference between this and a full “jig kit”?
This “Jig Only” product contains precisely that: the aluminum jig fixture. A full “jig kit” typically bundles the jig with the necessary drill bits and end mill tool. Purchasing this standalone jig is ideal for builders who already own the correct tools from a previous project or who wish to source higher-end tooling separately. Always verify your tool dimensions match Polymer80’s specifications.
